Why Neurocentric Yoga?

Movement is an essential part of my life! It is my medicine, brings me joy, and creates the perfect start to my day. Conscious breath work and attentively feeling myself and my senses repeatedly bring me into balance. After 20 years of intense full-contact martial arts, with all the highs and lows, and the mental stresses that impacted my body, I had to realize that I couldn't read my body well enough. The lack of regeneration and numerous injuries were the unfortunate consequence.

On my journey to yoga, I overcame many obstacles and consistently tried new paths. It was a long process until yoga eventually found a firm place in my life. I even developed a specific concept that is tailored to athletes and meets them exactly where they are:
"Neuro - Yoga for Athletes by Halima Elkasmi”

For me personally, the journey that led me to yoga was a transformative experience. It helped me understand my body and enhance my performance as an athlete. Since integrating Functional Yoga by Halima Elkasmi into my life, I haven't had a single injury. I am proud to be able to share this knowledge and experience with other athletes and individuals who want to learn more about the function of their bodies.

Neurocentric Yoga for Athletes

Think with your body move with your mind

The harmony of the physical and mental aspects from neuroscience fascinates me, as it brings us back to the natural development and movement of the human body. This workshop is about getting to know and enhancing the understanding of the brain-body connections. What we practice on the mat can be taken into our daily lives to achieve the desired balance.

The Workshop includes Halys yoga session with a focus on optimizing mobility and stability of the joints, as well as balancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems to transform excess tension into relaxation. Everyone's response to stress is unique, so it's important to find what works best for you. By understanding the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and utilizing techniques to activate the parasympathetic response, you can effectively manage tension and cope with stressful situations.

This concept combines the principles of functional movement and yoga with the specific needs of athletes. It helps us to understand the body, to promote regeneration, and prevent injuries. Targeted exercises and breathing techniques improve strength, flexibility, mental resilience, and body awareness. This method aims to fulfill the specific needs of athletes.

My program focuses on physical strength as well as mental endurance and concentration. Through regular Functional Yoga for Athletes, athletes can take their sports performance to a new level.

Change Perspectives of your movement - Inner Child Journey

In this workshop, we focus on rediscovering natural movement to sustainably gain more strength and live our lives with a healthy body. We often tend to see things as either/or, but why not both? Whether at work or in our daily life, the movement patterns of our bodies are often quite the same, they hardly ever change. So we are focusing on looking at things from a different perspective, and dive into how these different positions feel. By physically changing perspectives and how we see things, we can more easily implement those changes into our lives. You will learn the how and why, along with interesting and important backgrounds, functionalities, and plenty of inspiration for the future in this workshop. Here's what to expect:

Move, Touch & Feel

Immerse yourself in a practice that combines influences from neuroscience and functional movement. In this special, we focus on activating the lymphatic system and adjusting the body through targeted touch. Enjoy delving into this essential system of your body and experience how you can stimulate your lymph flow on your own. Before the actual movement, flexibility is assessed, and then, with the help of specific touches, the lymph flow and thus your energy flow will be stimulated. These techniques can help you to optimize your health, body and well-being.

Do you want to find out what could help you to observe yourself and your body better and more easily? How you can motivate yourself to move more often and to simply feel more again? How you can understand the signals from your body to consciously connect your brain with your body? How to return to natural movement to sustainably gain more strength and live with a healthy body?

Yoga & Self-defense

During the workshop Yoga & Self-Defense we focus on recognizing, employing, and integrating the balance between Yin & Yang, tension and relaxation, effort and ease into your daily life. Because life as a whole consists of polarities.

In this workshop, we concentrate on how the physical part interacts with the mental part and why it is crucial to recognize or reconnect them repeatedly. Sensing joint-oriented and intelligent movements is part of the workshop.

No prior knowledge is necessary.

Kick It Like Hali Meets Grappling

We often know either one thing or the other, either or, but why not both? Whether at work or in everyday life, the movement patterns of our minds are usually the same. It gets interesting when we look at things from the ground perspective and consciously experience how different the positions feel.

In Yoga & Grappling, two different worlds don't collide but merge into one another. How to recognize the common thread through combinations and how to integrate the entire mindset into your everyday life will be playfully conveyed in this workshop.

Yoga, Breath and Cold Exposure

Yoga, Breath & Cold Exposure

How do you breathe, and how does it feel? We breathe about 20,000 times a day, usually taking it for granted and hardly giving it much thought. Yet, your breath has the valuable potential to change and influence everything. You might think you know yourself well, but your fitness stops where your breath fails; your focus and mindset largely depend on your breathing patterns. Some people can endure hours in icy baths because they harness the power of their breath—a power often underestimated.

In this workshop, we will explore how to breathe mechanically correctly and why we often lose this ability. We will delve into how knowledge of gas exchange can be used to take in more oxygen. And we'll discover how, through our breath, we can become fitter, more enduring, focused, and calmer.

Yoga & Dance

From start to finish, from the initial meditation through preparing the entire nervous system to the final relaxation, we are working on our center, the body's core, in a slightly different way than you may be used to. And we'll do it using the best tools we possess on and within our bodies. We strengthen our body parts from the core, enabling us to move them lightly and smoothly.

This Yoga & Dance workshop is dedicated to the theme of "sensing more," achieved through the combination of yoga and dance flows.
